Flat sheets of up to .375” steel are rolled into perfect circles and ends are stitch welded together. We then angle grind outer seem to allow for a full penetration weld. The inner stitch weld is then replaced with a redundant & full penetration flux core weld.
Our rolling process accommodates an outer tank diameter from 4’ to 12’.
Most tank manufacturers connect the individual shells of their above-ground storage tanks using a cheaper buttweld method and others use a non-uniform lap joint weld. Our joggle weld process achieves an even more uniform and smoother than the butt-weld while providing superior integrity compared to the lap-joint weld.
While joggle welded tank shells require more work, our quality standards demand this superior method. While this Envirosafe™ process requires a little more time and labor the results enable our turn-key systems to be relocated numerous times without fear of leaks. We build above-ground fueling systems that are almost seamless and able to survive for decades.
